The eagerly anticipated Non-Farm
Payrolls and Employment Rate came out today - both slightly below analysts' forecasts
which held back a potential surge in the greenback.
Following European inflation falling to
0.5% the concept of QE using unconventional measures has taken to the
fore. The biggest fear for Mr. Draghi
and the ECB is protracted stagnation in the Euro Area economy. While the bond
purchasing in the USA has been a relative success (so far) the question that
remains is: if the ECB starts a similar program, which bonds will it buy and
how much? We await clarification but
don't hold your breath in the short term.
The beginning of next week is dominated by
data from Japan so it is worth taking a look at these crosses if you are not
familiar with them.
