The USD is heading for a second week of gains against the Yen with indications that the Fed will taper the bond purchasing program next week. However, commentators are still saying that the Fed will give mixed messages when they meet, further muddying policy strategy.

Japan's Nikkei newspaper reported that President Barack Obama will name Lawrence Summers as the next Fed chairman. There has been a Republican backlash do to Summer's history of raising taxes, with Janet Yellen seen as the most logical replacement and the first woman to head the central bank.
