some announcements that may impact the markets this week
The GBP came under sustained pressure as at
the time of writing as the Bank of England left rates on hold and its
asset-purchase target unchanged.
This was the first announcement from the
Bank since Mark Carney took the reins on July 1st and he becomes the
first foreigner to run the Bank of England.
FOMC Minutes
On Wednesday it will be worth paying
attention to the FOMC minutes at 18:00 GMT.
FOMC is the Federal Open Market Committee which organises eight meetings
a year to review economic and financial conditions in the USA. Minutes are
released by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve and provide a clear
guide to future interest rate policy.
